Spay/Neuter Surgery @ Heaven on Earth S/N Clinic
Thank you for fostering with and/or adopting from Kitty of Angels! The next step is getting your kitten(s) spayed/neutered. Both the City of Los Angeles (Section 53.15.2) and the County of Los Angeles (Section 10.20.350) require all residents to have their dogs and cats spayed or neutered by the age of 4 months. As a rescue partner of both those municipalities, we are required to follow these ordinances. Not following these will cause us to lose our ability to partner with these municipalities, therefore prevent us from helping future shelter animals. We want our adopters to take their family members home as early as possible (8 weeks of age), so we allow potential adopters to foster-to-adopt only if they agree to follow our policies and bring their kittens to be spayed/neutered. Adoption is only finalized after surgery. Until then, the kittens are still part of our foster program.
Because of a nationwide vet shortage and ongoing COVID protocols, surgery appointments are extremely difficult to get. In light of that, we are only able to schedule appointments on certain dates. Once scheduled, appointments are not able to easily be rescheduled. If you cannot make your appointment, please let us know at least 48-hours in advance to avoid a $70 cancellation fee. Here are post-operative care instructions.
The cost of the surgery is included in your adoption fee, so it is free of charge for you. If you'd like to go to your own veterinarian for the surgery, we will not be able to cover the cost as the average surgery by a private vet can be up to $1,000. We also require the surgery to be done before your kittens is 4 months old as we have to provide proof of surgery to the City/County shelters.
**Please remember that your kitten's name at the clinic will be the name listed in our system.
